The classic modern living room conservatory with a slim structure and a light-flooded glass roof

Modena is the classic home winter garden with a glass roof for sophisticated individual living demands. With its filigree supporting structure in a stable wood-aluminum construction, it ensures maximum transparency and light-flooded living 365 days a year, with the best thermal insulation and absolute weather resistance. Always made to measure, it adapts to the most varied of customer requirements and existing situations. Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art glass, sophisticated construction details and many optical features, conservatories from the Modena line are not only ideal as home conservatories, but also meet the highest architectural demands.

Due to the large proportion of glass in the roof, Modena conservatories must pay particular attention to shading, a control system and the heating system used.

So that the maximum light flooding of the glass roof does not lead to excessive overheating and unpleasant glare, two things must be ensured when planning the winter garden so that the joy is not spoiled. On the one hand, the glass surface in the roof should always be cut in such a way that there is shade from the outside - and here, too, it is advisable to use a fabric that is as dark as possible, since dark fabrics absorb significantly more energy than light ones - on the other hand, it is of great importance that as much volume as possible is generated, that is, the roof surface of the conservatory is built as high as possible in order to avoid the warm roof surface "pressing". If you take these principles to heart, the foundation for a functioning, light-flooded home conservatory is laid.

In the picture next you can see a very typical Steinbach winter garden from the Modena line, which was planned according to these principles and which can therefore also be used wonderfully on warm days.

Although glass roofs always let a little more energy into the interior when the sun is shining than closed, insulated flat roofs or flat roofs with glass cutouts (glass domes), if these principles are observed, you can achieve a decent climate on warm, sunny days. In the monopitch roof conservatory above, you can see the shading system on the roof and the facades can also be shaded all around with integrated external venetian blind systems (not visible when retracted). But the roof structure of the winter garden is very important. It stands in front of a balcony, but the roof does not end at the front edge of the balcony at a height of perhaps 2.60 m, but goes up to about 3.60 m at the rear, approximately at the level of the balcony railing, which is no longer there because it is is no longer needed. The winter garden forms a skylight at the back and thus closes off the balcony. This creates volume, which is of great importance for a pleasant climate. In addition, effective ventilation windows can also be integrated wonderfully. If the winter garden were to run under or against the balcony slab at the back, it would not be usable as living space. But it would not be from us either, since we fundamentally reject such dubious ones!

Which division, equipment and colors you choose depends entirely on you and is a matter of taste. Modena conservatories basically consist of a slim, well-insulating and weather-resistant wood-aluminum structure. Different colors can be used inside and outside (at no extra charge). The noble wooden structure on the inside consists of a very special glued laminated timber that is only used at Steinbach. It gets its extremely noble look through a very special manufacturing process in which we additionally coat the premium quality glued laminated timber with laminated real wood veneer. This results in the finest surfaces in different types of wood. The structure of the object shown above consists of oak on the inside and radiates a very pleasant warmth.
Opaque colors in countless RAL colors are also possible. For this, the wooden structure is painted in the color of your choice. The protective aluminum shell on the outside is powder-coated in the color of your choice and is available in various profile shapes.

Our special channel profile is also used in Modena winter gardens. It is used for the defined drainage of rainwater, elegantly accommodates the facade shading and, with optional spotlights, provides effective outdoor lighting. Our smooth-running sliding doors with flat thresholds are used as opening elements and tilt windows with concealed (not visible) motor drives are available for ventilation. Integrated insect protection and various control systems are just as much a part of the offer as our very popular dimmable LED starry sky, which is very often operated via the so-called energy column, which in turn is connected by our own electricians. Our flat threshold with inner edge protection should not be left unmentioned and is part of the standard of every high-quality Steinbach winter garden. In the picture on the right you can see a Modena winter garden with an LED starry sky, a large sliding door and "half" Steinbach corners.
The slender wooden structure is made of glued laminated timber with a beautiful maple surface.
