This beautiful living room conservatory was created in collaboration with an architect who is very good friends with the owner couple.
An individual NOVARA winter garden was built, which I would most likely classify in the direction of a country house style. Although it has the classic and straightforward special channel profile (not the Victorian one), it has inclined corner posts (no all-glass corners with internal stainless steel support), a rather small-scale facade division and of course the clinkered wall parapet.
Due to the very demanding structural conditions, in principle nothing other than such a cubature could be added here. Also, a "normal" glazed winter garden would have been absolutely out of place from a purely visual point of view.
I think the result proves that you are right. From the outside, the winter garden, together with the brick-built residential building, looks like a natural architectural unit and inside, a bright, elegant living space has been created that seamlessly connects to the existing high-quality living area.
Incidentally, the saddle roof glass dome has the same roof pitch as the house roof. Depending on the point of view, this also contributes to the fact that the extension hugs the existing structure as a matter of course.
Some facade fields are filled with closed panels instead of glass. The "library" was integrated into these fields on the room side. A nice thing, I think, because such colorfully filled book walls are optically a nice change from the otherwise rather functional conservatory structure. |
The closed and rear-ventilated flat roof construction has an extremely good U-value of less than 0.19 W / m²K, so that little heat is lost through the roof surface in winter.
However, the summer heat protection is even more important. Due to the well-insulated flat roof, there is little energy input in the warm season, so that NOVARA flat roof winter gardens from Steinbach are characterized by a very pleasant indoor climate all year round and do not overheat in summer!
Thanks to the dome, these winter gardens still get a great volume of space and sufficient daylight from above. In addition, such a glass dome looks really good ...
Of course, this high-quality NOVARA winter garden also offers all the technical and optical features of an innovative Steinbach winter garden. For example:
- Slim wood-aluminum construction in living quality
- Flat base with barrier-free revolving door
- Stainless steel step protection in the plinth bolt inside as a floor connection
- Ventilated, thermally insulated flat roof
- Self-developed, thermally insulated profile system with cascade drainage
- Seamless transition of the ceiling cladding into the glass, without a bulky connection profile. This is one of several different ceiling connection options
- Circumferential special channel, which also serves as a cover for the retracted facade shading (external blinds). This means that no additional bulky panels have to be installed on the outside of the conservatory.
- Beautiful dome for skylight, room height and exhaust air
- Automatic control of shading and ventilation
- Integrated ceiling lighting and LED starry sky in the rafters of the dome
